Description
The Tramex Roof and Wall Scanner (RWS) is an instant, precise, multi-mode, non-destructive impedance scanner for evaluating moisture conditions in roofing (as per ASTM D7954), EIFS, foam insulation systems and other building envelope applications. It is a handheld, pinless roof and wall moisture meter designed to detect and evaluate moisture conditions in roof and wall systems.
The RWS multi-mode function allows for depth penetration and sensitivity selection and can help trace leaks and pinpoint their source, making it a very beneficial moisture detector for walls and roofs.
Features
- Complies with ASTM D7954
- For non-destructive moisture evaluation of roofs, EIFS, foam insulation systems and other building envelope applications
- Evaluates the extent of the moisture problem and helps trace and pinpoint its source
- Multi-mode functions allowing for depth penetration and sensitivity selection
- Fast and easy to operate, giving instant clear readings
- Hold function facilitates easy recording of readings
- Lightweight, handheld and battery operated
- Telescopic handle (for use on roofs)
- Inexpensive to purchase and operate compared to other non-destructive testing methods
- Professional roofing moisture meter for the water damage industry
How It Works
The Roof and Wall Scanner detects and evaluates moisture conditions within roofing and wall systems by non-destructively measuring electrical impedance. A low frequency electronic signal is transmitted into the material under test via the electrodes in the base of the instrument. The strength of this signal varies in proportion to the amount of moisture in the material under test. The RWS converts this to a comparative moisture content value, displayed on a large clear analog dial.
Operating procedure: moisture detection testing can be done at the time of installation, as part of an ongoing maintenance programme, or prior to repair of damaged roofing and wall systems. The RWS is a handheld, hardwearing instrument with dual operating modes for roofing and EIFS/foam insulation systems, each with two ranges of signal penetration. Having calibrated the RWS on a known acceptably dry area, it gives instant readings for the moisture survey.
Applications and Suitable Materials
